LIN: the paragraphs below have nothing to do with my but are someone else maliciousness (Doug) the malicious "two emails" weren't from me...
Doug,
I started college at the University of Chicago in 1943, Thus, I have been associated with academe for 75 years. Never, in all those years, have I seen a document as hostile and abusive as your letter to Barry Wellman concerning Narda. I had seen some inappropriate activities on your part earlier (e.g. your refusal to reimburse our Mexican colleagues for their invited visit to UCI) but I had never seen anything as absolutely inappropriate as the Narda letter.
Therefore, at that point, I decided to end all communication with you. In the last couple of months, however, I have received two emails from you. The first made it clear that you were so out of touch that you didnt even know that Sue had died. Others did. By then I had received over 200 emails from all over the world bemoaning her death. Yet you were obviously in such poor touch that you were unaware of it.
Then, today, you wrote again. This time your note was so incoherent that one cannot tell if you now know or if you are still unaware. And I cannot care how you think of Sue. Please, then, cease writing to me. I have no desire to be in touch with you ever again.
Sincerely,
Linton Freeman
