Carol - Would you believe it I just set up a potentially huge new EduMod implementation called EduGISMod (that's for spatial or Geographic Information Systems) which features the FREE ArcGIS online browsers which can be used in the classroom, office or home and give access to humungous amounts of earth's ecological and spatial data, like the data of Google Earth only infinitely more rich. I already put up the game plan at the wiki site: search: EduGISMod. Doug 17:56, 23 July 2009 (PDT)

Carol - Would you ask your Corporate people if they would look up Jack Dangermond at ESRI which is a hugely successful privately owned company and they might be a place to approach for educational donations. I know Jack, he is a visionary, and he has asked me to write him and his top 2 Directors a letter outlining what I would like to see educationally at their GIS corporation. If you browse around intersci wiki (note the categories at the bottom of the wiki pages) you will see the 10,000 user community meeting, and their vision for the future of education, the planet, governance. The Governor of Maryland who runs the state on a democratically transparent and accountable basis through GIS was one of the two keynote speakers. I would love it if Jack could give us two 4-year graduate fellowships and two 2-year postdocs to work with our EduMod and other groups in the school, plus 5 undergraduate scholarships to help pepper and run a new undergraduate major in Human Complex Systems and GIS.
