That outcome is what I was perceiving with the raw variables, altho they had very different chunks of missing data.

My question for you is: given the princomp code Doug.r that you did, how do I recover the vector of 186 1st PCA values? Thats the variable that needs to be run against plow, population density, and the total complexity index.

J. Patrick Gray is a professor of anthropology at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. His research fields are holocultural research, evolutionary biology, methodology, and religion, peacefulness and aggression. He received his PhD degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1974. He has authored sixteen articles, one book, co-edited another book with James Silverberg, and is Editor of the World Cultures eJournal.
