Hello

Unfortunately, I will be out of the office Friday April 14, I will be reading email as I am able. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Have a great day! Ken

Doug,

At this time I think it would be best to renewal your educational allocation( DBS120005) then if you feel this gateway will need more than say 50k SUs then we can investigate the option of submitting a Research request in the next quarter or two.

Doug,

Glad to hear that your gateway has been restored. Also, the PI change in the XSEDE db has been completed so you can now go to the XSEDE Allocation's submission site and renew your Education award for your gateway. If you go to the Allocations submission site:

https://portal.xsede.org/submit-request#/

on the bottom left you will see the Education opportunity with a link to renew your grant, "Start Renewal for DBS120005" attached is a screenshot of this.

Once you complete this we will have it reviewed and processed.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Nancy or I might have told you I recovered from cancer. wanted to get back with my

http://socscicompute.ss.uci.edu (website) that ceased to operate in 2016-17

and that in the old days might take a dependent var such as v334 (from a dataset), then some independent vars such as meanalt,v3,v335, to test whether these act as independent var predictors, then some additional variables to provide further (UNrestrictred) vars that act as supplementary data to stabilize the testing of a regression analysis, of, say, independent var predictors meanalt,v3,v335 as predictors of v334. Datasets and their variables are selected from four external datasets.

Variables are entered by hand in relevant boxes and draw on Datasets in initial boxes, e.g., [Dataset: SCCS] where SCCS etc. is one of several datasets used in research and courses.

I want to reinstate the software that receives the variables in relevant boxes that the user fills, and that outputs as results, including maps of locations of data in the samples that can be selected.

Can you restore the connections to the analytic software for these Analyses? They were decoupled while I was sick. I can supply funding from UC Irvine as needed per usage that is quite small. Very little funding is needed and could continue for decades. The databases that are analyzed remain in place and do not change. The software is open in that courses are used in classes on Cross-Cultural Research. Data used are fixed and accessible and free for usage. Computer time is not costly, and can easily draw on usage that can be managed at UC Irvine for which I have funding.

Cross-Cultural Research is a modest field with modest numbers of courses worldwide. One course has been used for the last four years and will again use this resource again next fall. Usage will likely grow slightly from year to year at different universities.

In any case, its probably easy to reinstate the http://socscicompute.ss.uci.edu site at UCI and courses at other university use it.

Doug, After consulting with Ken (the expert), we believe all you need to do is submit a renewal request. Log in to http://portal.xsede.org (there are links if you’ve forgotten your password, your username is drwhite). Once logged in, hover over “allocations” and click on submit/review request. next submission window is March 15 - April 15 - 2017. That should allow you to extend your educational allocation,
