Hi Doug...

I have no clear idea where that photo happened.

My guess is that it was in Mexico in the 1980s. (DW: Actually Storrs near UConn)

Just day before yesterday I came back from a wondrous

spectacular 13 travel in Finland. We visited one little group of relatives, met anthropologists at the University of Oulu, and went up to my old field site where I did my doctoral field research in 1958-59 among Skolt Saami reindeer herders.

The cottage with some of us Peltos standing in front is my

grandmother's old place, (west Finland, near Vaasa) where I first met her in the 1950s.

The little boy is my grandson, Alessio....son of Ari..who

conducts operas and other music in various places in the US.

The swans were in a little bay of a very large lake

in central Finland.....

I am still in Storrs, Connecticut...not far from the University,

but I never go there....

It would be great to hear about your recent activities...
     Best,
  Bert
