Hi Doug, I downloaded the fileset from eclectic for SCCS. PSPP reads the SPSS file just fine. After I run a few tests to make sure I get the same results, I will let you know. If it's as good as it appears, PSPP will be a good substitute for SPSS. It's open source and free, and the interface looks very much like SPSS. See PSPP for Mac. A helpful note--PSPP also runs from a command line. To get the SPSS look-alike GUI run the psppire application.
