Structure and Dynamics: Anthropological and Related Sciences (SDARS eJournal) Douglas R. White

Dear Douglas R. White,

recently, we invited you to participate in an international study on quality assurance for Open Access journals and asked you to fill in a survey as for *Structure and Dynamics : e-Journal of Anthropological and Related Sciences*.

This is just a reminder for you since we haven't received any answers for *Structure and Dynamics: e-Journal of Anthropological and Related Sciences* yet. The questionnaire can be found at The survey will be available until April 21st.

In case you haven't received the original invitation email you'll find some background information on the study in the following lines.

My name is Uwe Müller, and I work at Humboldt University in Berlin at the Institute for Library and Information Science with Prof. Peter Schirmbacher, see One of our research focusses deals with electronic publishing and especially Open Access.

Currently, we are conducting an international study to analyze and compare electronic Open Access journals in respect of their measures for quality assurance. For this purpose, we consult editors or other persons in charge of all electronic journals listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Since the journal *Structure and Dynamics : e-Journal of Anthropological and Related Sciences* is contained in this directory, you are one of the adressees of this request.

The study basically aims at investigating (and maybe disproving) the widespread assumption Open Access journals contained material of minor quality and could not compete with traditional publishing forms.

Please help us to conduct the study by answering the questionnaire. If you think another person in charge of the journal is more appropriate to answer, please forward this message accordingly.
