[edit] The videoconference workshop in complexity
This is the UCI component of the four-campus course: social networks & complexity also titled the Human Sciences and Complexity (HSC) VideoSeminars.
[edit] Three components
- Meetings listed at the <Current_events#University_of_California_Multi-Campus_Complexity_Events_2008-2009> HSC-designated fridays starting October 11 (Oct 24, Nov 7, Nov 21). (UCLA Marschak Colloquia sessions are shown during the year)
- In addition to videodiscussions there are wiki discussions for each speaker marked as such at the <University of California Complexity Events>. Here you can interact off-line or on-line with our HSC faculty specific to the course.
- The only assignment for this f-w-s course (grads or undergrads) because it is a colloquium series is to report on one of the speakers, at the wiki discussion site. Please login in any case at the wiki with your real name. Past speakers can also be the subject of a writeup, in which case send a *.doc file to the instructor.
[edit] Past speaker site
On the wiki events page each speaker also has a link to the web site that carries streaming videos of past speakers. Past seminars are available on the site as streaming videos
[edit] Comment freely
If you want to make anonymous comments about any given lecture(s) you may also login a second time with an anonymous identity and name.
[edit] Invite others freely
Any UCI student (grad or undergrad) can sign up for 1.33 credits per quarter. We encourage you to invite other students and faculty to any session, whether they are signed up or not.
