Short Bio

Haiko Lietz
I’m a sociologist and freelance journalist based near Cologne, Germany. In 2002 I got a diploma in media technology from Mittweida University of Applied Sciences and in 2007 an M.A. in sociology from Columbia University. My general interest is in complexity, self-similarity, interdisciplinary approaches and structural theory. As a sociologist I specialized in complexity approaches to social structure. At Columbia I worked with Harrison White on the second edition of his structural theory of social action Identity and Control. As a science reporter I maintain a specialization in Condensed Matter Nuclear Science and Heim Theory.

From 2004 to 2006 I have been an associate lecturer in Computer-Assisted Reporting and Social Network Analysis at Mittweida University.
